It is my belief that everything began with a spark, a point of origin. This spark or center point of existence is in a constant state of motion, spiraling outward like concentric circles continuously increasing in size. The larger the circles become the farther away from the initial spark we get and the more we question our beginnings. It is through such questioning that I try to comprehend the mysteries that surround us. My art-making process is strongly connected to intuition and belief. I use symbols in conjunction with myth-based ideas to conjure a visual narrative of human conflict and spiritual awareness. I examine the physical and non-physical structures of our humanity as I explore the past, present, known and obscure. My aim is to allow the questions to unfold into more questions, thus bringing us closer to an inner understanding through their contemplation. My explorations start intimate with the individual and evolve into larger views on society. Throughout is the ambiguous nature of God.
